Sudanese-Indonesian Cultural Night
Omdurman – Omdurman Locality Cultural Centre witnessed the Sudanese/Indonesian Cultural Night in the presence of Khartoum State Minister of Culture, Mohammed Yusuf Al-Degair, Omdurman Locality Commissioner, Ahmed Imam Al-Tuhami, Ambassador of Indonesia to Sudan Dr. Suja Timiku, his wife and number of Omdurman prominent figures and officials.
The night was launched by plastic artist exhibition which reflected the art works of Sudanese and Indonesian artists.
The night included cultural session, folklore dances to express the Indonesian cultures.
Several speeches were delivered by the Sudanese/Indonesian Friendship Society.
On his part, the Indonesian Ambassador pointed to the strong and historic relations between Sudan and Indonesia.
He recalled that Islam entered Indonesia through a Sudanese who is called Sheikh Sorkatti.
He spoke about the economic relations and the possibility of improving it.
He said that they have chosen Omdurman to celebrate the event due to its historical role.
Khartoum State Minister of Culture, Mohammed Yousuf Al-Degair emphasized the importance of such activities as it reflect the real image of the warm relations considering culture as more impressive than policies, stressing on the importance of activating the relations between the two nations.
